Art Walk 2016

General Rules
  1. This is an Artistic Crafts and Fine Arts Show.  Each section is eligible for one First Place, one Second Place, and one Third Place Ribbon.                                                                                                                                                                             
  2. All work must be that of one Exhibitor and can only have one entry per class,(i.e. in Paintings you could enter one in Class 1, one in Class 2 and one in Class 3).
  3. Advanced entry Registration by Saturday, April 30, 2016 is required. All sections and Classes are open to members of the FGCM,Inc. of the National garden Clubs, Inc.
  4. Prizes and ribbons will be awarded to the 1st place winner ($50.00) 2nd place winner ($30.00), and 3rd place winner ($15.00). in each Section. 
  5. All entries must be placed before 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 17, 2016. Entries must remain for the duration of the show, which is following the meeting after breakfast on Thursday, May 19, 2016.
  6. Judging by general membership will start at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 and cease at 6:00pm on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. An official ballot will be found in your registration packet.
  7. Art room will not be open prior to the Breakfast on Thursday morning for showing of the awards. The winners will be announced at the Breakfast meeting. Entries may be picked up following the close of the meeting.                                                                       
  8. Fresh and or/dried materials may be used unless otherwise stated. No ARTIFICAL PLANT MATERIAL MAY BE USED. Contrived flowers and /or plant forms constructed of recognizable plant materials are permitted.
  9. If you have questions about any entry that may not conform to limitations mentioned in the Sections or Classes below, please contact the Art Show Co-Chairpersons listed below and on Registration form. 
  10. Get your registration form in early to guarantee placement. Limitations may be due to space restrictions closer to the deadline. We want everyone to be able to enter.!
  11. Although care will be taken, the Federated Garden Clubs of Missouri, Inc. National Garden Clubs and the Hotel Cannot be responsible for loss or damage.

Section 1 – PAINTINGS - Framed or Matted Paintings( color of mat at discretion of Exhibitor)  not to exceed 16” x 20”-applies to all three classes unless specified differently).  To be placed on table easel, provided by the artist and will be staged on a covered table provided by the committee.  Voting will be for the Best in the section (which includes all three Classes).
        Class 1.Acrylics/Oils and Watercolors
        Class 2.Drawings (graphite, colored pencils, pastels, charcoal)
        Class 3.Mixed Media ( framed or matted ) and Collage (if on canvas, unneccessary to frame or mat)

SECTION 2 –PHOTOGRAPHY– Black & White and Color Photographs. Only one photography entry per Exhibitor allowed. All photographs to         be  8” x 10” size, placed on an 11"x 14"foam core, and matted with an 11"x 14" white or cream colored mat. Add a small 1"x 2" card      attached to the front of the mat with the location of photo site .Photographs will be staged on tables provided by the committee and on easels  provided by the artist.                                                                                                                                                                                           
        Class 4. Designer's Choice

SECTION 3 –YARD ART– Area covered not to exceed 24"square to be displayed on a black square on the floor furnished by committee. There is no height requirement, but an entry must be within reason or not to exceed 7' tall. If you feel your item is too small to be seen on the floor, the committee will furnish tables to be shared with other Yard Art entries for uniformity. Reminder: Must be confined to 24"square in width and depth. Yard Art means art to be enjoyed outdoors.

        Class 5. Designer's Choice

SECTION 4 –SEWING AND HANDWORK– Will be staged on a covered table with a black mat measuring 18” square, both provided by the committee.  Items may be folded or framed to meet this requirement.  The artist may also include (optional) a photo of their item showing the entire item. 
        Class 6. Designer's Choice 
 Will be staged on a covered table covered with a black mat measuring 18" square, both provided by the committee. If entering pressed flower pictures, they should be matted or framed. The artist should provide an easek for pictures or cards. Rocks, wooden boxes, clay pots or metal items can stand by themselves.
